Pavement Maintenance, LLC is seeking a skilled Asphalt Roller Operator to join our paving crew. This is a hands-on field role responsible for compacting asphalt and delivering a high-quality finished surface under real jobsite conditions.
This position plays a critical role in the long-term performance of pavement by ensuring proper compaction, smoothness, and finish.
Key responsibilities include operating asphalt rollers to compact and smooth freshly placed asphalt, following proper rolling patterns to meet density and finish requirements, and monitoring mat temperature, density, and surface appearance throughout the compaction process. The operator will work closely with the paving crew, including the paver and screed operators, to maintain production flow and quality standards.
The role also requires adjusting rolling techniques based on mix type, lift thickness, and environmental conditions, identifying and communicating surface issues such as shoving, cracking, or segregation, and performing daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance. Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures and traffic control requirements at all times.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly pay range of $28 – $36 per hour depending on experience. Overtime opportunities available. Prevailing wage opportunities may apply depending on project. Benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, Paid Time Off, and performance-based bonuses.

Minimum 2+ years of asphalt roller operation experience on paving crews required. Candidates must have a strong understanding of compaction principles, rolling patterns, and the ability to read asphalt mat conditions and make real-time adjustments.
Experience working in production-driven environments is required. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and able to work effectively as part of a crew.
CDL Class A is a plus but not required.
Candidates must be able to lift 50+ pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Must be able to work overtime, including nights and weekends, depending on project demands.
