Job Summary ( Pay is based on experience)
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations and management of a tree company. The ideal candidate will lead financial planning, cost management, and project budgeting efforts while ensuring compliance with construction regulations and standards. This role requires a strong background in construction management software, project scheduling, and team leadership within complex infrastructure projects. The Controller will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting project execution, and driving operational efficiency across multiple construction initiatives.
Duties
- Oversee all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, HeavyBid, and Civil 3D to monitor project progress and schedule coordination.
- Manage project schedules by coordinating with project managers to ensure timely completion within budget constraints.
- Lead contract negotiations and review blueprints, schematics, and contracts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Supervise teams involved in construction estimating, project coordination, and schedule management to optimize workflow.
- Implement and maintain construction regulatory compliance procedures across all projects.
- Monitor construction site expenses and ensure accurate cost management aligned with project budgets.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders by providing detailed reports on project status, costs, and schedules.
- Ensure proper documentation of contracts, change orders, and project modifications for audit readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency in construction scheduling and project delivery.
Experience
- Proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects within the construction industry.
- Extensive knowledge of construction scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and Schematics.
- Demonstrated expertise in construction budget management, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Strong background in managing teams in a construction management role with emphasis on project coordination.
- Familiarity with heavy civil or infrastructure projects involving site work, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation.
- Proficiency in using construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, HeavyBid, and related platforms.
- In-depth understanding of construction regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively.
- Experience reading blueprints and schematics to support accurate project planning and execution.
