Duties
- Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and finishing touches tailored to each pet’s breed and individual needs
- Handle dogs and other animals with gentle restraint techniques, ensuring safety and comfort during grooming procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use
- Assess each pet’s health and behavior to identify any signs of veterinary concerns or discomfort, communicating observations to the team as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining grooming procedures, answering client questions, and offering pet care advice
- Assist with pet handling during drop-off and pick-up, ensuring animals are calm and secure throughout their visit
- Support team members with additional animal handling tasks such as pet sitting or kennel duties when necessary
Experience
- Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred
- Background in dog training or veterinary technician/assistant roles enhances your ability to care for animals effectively
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures, animal restraint techniques, and pet care best practices is advantageous
- Experience working with various animals including dogs, cats, and equines is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with pet owners
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting of animals or equipment safely and comfortably
- Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques to ensure a safe grooming environment
