About the Role
Zia Tile is a Los Angeles-based manufacturer of handmade tile, producing high-quality, artisanal products distributed to customers around the world.
We're growing our Product Development team and looking for a Senior Product Designer who can move fluidly between hands-on design work and the project management that gets a collection from concept to shelf. You'll help shape new collections, build out the design documentation that keeps our team aligned, and manage timelines across several product categories at once. This role has no direct reports initially, but may grow into a team leadership position over time.
This is a hybrid role based in Los Angeles, with in-person collaboration 1–2 days a week minimum.
What You'll Do
- Develop tile and stone concepts from early exploration through final design
- Build and maintain design documentation for the Product Development team
- Create and present new collection concepts to internal stakeholders
- Own discovery and design timelines across multiple product categories
- Communicate clearly across cross-functional teams
What You'll Need
- 2–5 years of professional experience in a design role
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
- A strong, discerning design eye
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Comfort managing multiple projects independently, with self-direction
- Ability to work both collaboratively and solo
- Based in or able to commute regularly to Los Angeles, CA
- A portfolio (PDF or link) demonstrating relevant design work
Nice to Have
- Experience with ceramics or handmade materials
- Graphic design background
- Familiarity with home design, interior design trends, or the trade/design community
- Comfort with Microsoft Office Suite
Compensation & BenefitsPay: $100,000–$115,000/year, depending on experience
