Chemical Production Technician
Reports to: Chemical Supervisor
Job Summary
Prepared and blended chemical formulations for polyurethane carpet cushion manufacturing, operated production equipment, monitored quality standards, maintained accurate production records, and ensured compliance with safety and environmental regulations while meeting daily production targets
Key Responsibilities
- Prepared, measured, and mixed chemical formulations used in the production of polyurethane carpet cushion.
- Operated and monitored mixing equipment, pumps, and dispensing systems to ensure accurate chemical ratios and consistent product quality.
- Loaded and transferred raw materials, including polyols, isocyanates, catalysts, pigments, and additives, following production specifications.
- Conducted routine quality control checks, including viscosity, density, and formulation verification, adjusting as needed.
- Monitored production processes to maintain product consistency and minimize waste.
- Followed OSHA safety regulations and company procedures for handling hazardous chemicals and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Performed equipment cleaning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to reduce downtime. Periodic rebuild of day tanks and coordinating with maintenance for some repairs.
- Recorded batch information, production data, and inventory usage accurately in production logs.
- Collaborated with production and quality teams to meet daily production goals and customer specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with Scottdel housekeeping standards.
- Assisting with Magna Terminal and other tasks that may need done in Chemical Dept.
Qualifications
· Mathematical, Communication, and problem-solving skills
· Experience with chemical storage, labeling systems, and forklift operation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk production areas regularly.
- Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs. when necessary.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
