All County Environmental & Restoration is seeking a highly motivated Asbestos Technician to join our team.
Seasonal Prevailing Wage Position:
This is a seasonal position supporting prevailing wage projects. Employment is contingent upon project availability, business needs, and continued eligibility to work on assigned projects. Because this position may involve work at government facilities, public works projects, schools, or other secure locations, applicants must be able to satisfy all applicable federal, state, local, and client-specific access requirements, which may include successful completion of legally compliant background checks, identity verification, security clearances, or other pre-access screening as required by law or contract. Any required background check will be conducted only after any applicable conditional offer of employment and in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws, including California’s Fair Chance Act where applicable. Employees must also maintain any licenses, certifications, or qualifications required to perform the essential functions of the position.
The Environmental Technician is responsible for performing asbestos, mold, lead, and other hazardous waste removal activities in accordance with company policies and industry regulations. Responsibilities include assisting with job setup, executing remediation work, maintaining quality control throughout projects, and strictly following all safety and hazardous waste handling procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Perform remediation tasks as directed by the project lead or supervisor
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and environmental regulations
Complete the environmental field packet daily
Take air quality samples as required
Maintain professional and respectful customer interactions on job sites
Properly handle, label, and dispose of hazardous materials
This role requires participation in occasional industry training, maintaining updated certifications, and meeting physical standards required for environmental fieldwork. The individual must comply with EPA, OSHA, and local safety requirements related to hazardous materials handling.
Required Certification
The candidate must possess a current Asbestos Supervisor Certification issued by a Certified State Training Provider as recognized by OSHA. A valid and current environmental physical enabling the individual to wear a respirator must be on file.

Job Duties
Oversee environmental and restoration projects, including crew members
Communicate clearly with operations and management to maintain timelines and ensure successful final clearances
Operate and maintain commonly used tools and equipment
Conduct daily tailgate safety meetings
Complete required paperwork and manage personal air sampling on asbestos projects
Ensure all asbestos projects have appropriate labels and hazardous waste manifests
Set up containment and required equipment, including establishing adequate negative air pressure
Remove building materials containing asbestos, lead, and/or mold
Requirements
Perform all duties following the highest safety standards
Adhere to EPA, OSHA, and local regulations while handling hazardous materials
Ability to unload and carry equipment up to approximately 50 lbs (including stairs)
Willing and able to wear a half or full-face respirator during work
Maintain all required certifications for environmental projects
Good physical health, meeting medical clearance requirements, including physical examination and drug screening
