AJ Squared Security is seeking experienced retail store detectives to work at our industry leading client’s store locations. We have built a reputation for providing exceptional service to our clients through our highly professional team of detectives. We currently have openings in Newport News Virginia.
Job Description:
Store detectives are responsible for protecting the assets of our clients (cash, merchandise, property) as well as ensuring a safe and secure environment by doing the following:
- Watching the activity of customers, employees, vendors, and delivery people for suspicious behavior
- Monitoring the front entrance to deter push outs
- Working in an LP shirt to detect and apprehend potential shoplifters
- Using cctv and other security systems to monitor activity in client locations
- Filing complaints with police and testifying in court in regard to apprehensions and investigations which you took part in

Skills Required:
- High degree of professionalism
- Good decision making under pressure
- Ability to work independently
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Ability to travel to store locations within 25 miles of home
- Ability to work retail store hours
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 6 months of verifiable retail store detective experience required (working undercover to detect and apprehend shoplifters)
- Virginia Security License
