Pay & Schedule:
- $32–$35 per hour
- Part-time role, up to 20 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling within Fitness Center operations
- Positions working the full 20 hours per week are benefits-eligible
The Opportunity:
Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a part-time Massage Therapist to join our Fitness Center and wellness team. In this role, you’ll provide therapeutic massage services to patients, staff, and community members as part of Whittier’s holistic approach to health and wellness. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed massage therapist who is passionate about stress reduction, pain management, physical recovery, and community-based care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized therapeutic massage sessions to support relaxation, recovery, and overall wellness
- Collaborate with clients and, when appropriate, healthcare providers to align services with wellness goals
- Educate clients on self-care practices and the benefits of massage therapy
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to HIPAA and organizational policies
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper setup of massage treatment areas
- Promote fitness center services and wellness programming
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience providing therapeutic massage in a clinical, wellness, or fitness setting
- Completion of an accredited massage therapy program
- Current Massachusetts Massage Therapist license
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of multiple massage modalities and ability to tailor treatment to individual needs
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment
- Cultural competency and comfort working with diverse populations
- BLS certification preferred; continuing education encouraged
