Customer Support/Order Entry Specialist
Location: Dix Hills, NY
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
Work Arrangement: Fully onsite for the first 2-3 months, transitioning to a hybrid schedule of 3-4 days onsite per week
Compensation: $25-30/hour, based on experience

About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused
Customer Support / Order Entry Specialist to join their team in Dix Hills, NY. This role is ideal for someone with strong order processing, customer service, and ERP/EDI experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing customer orders, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring a positive customer experience from order placement through fulfillment.
Responsibilities-
Process and enter customer orders accurately and efficiently

Manage order acknowledgments, updates, and modifications

Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding orders, shipments, and product information

Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely order fulfillment

Monitor open orders and proactively communicate status updates to customers

Maintain accurate customer and order data within the ERP system

Review and process EDI transactions and troubleshoot discrepancies as needed

Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate

Assist with inventory, shipping, and logistics-related inquiries

Support additional administrative and customer service functions as assigned
Requirements-
Minimum of 3 years of experience in customer support, order entry, inside sales support, or a related role

Experience working with ERP systems and/or EDI platforms required

Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Excel

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

Strong problem-solving and customer service skills

High school diploma required; additional education is a plus
Preferred Qualifications-
Experience in manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, or related industries

Familiarity with inventory management and shipping processes

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
