Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young learners in a vibrant educational environment. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and individual student needs.
- Lead classroom activities that promote literacy, numeracy, communication skills, and social-emotional development for children with disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management strategies tailored for students with special needs.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other professionals to support students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and developmental goals.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers, interns, and support staff to ensure high-quality instructional delivery and classroom management.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress using standardized testing, formative assessments, and observational data; adjust instruction accordingly.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including IEPs, progress reports, behavioral records, and communication logs with families.
Skills
- Proven experience in early childhood education, special education, or preschool settings with a focus on children with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and educational technology integration.
- Expertise in behavior management techniques for students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), developmental disabilities, or behavioral health challenges.
- Familiarity with special education law, IEP processes, and standards for working with students with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with families, multidisciplinary teams, and community partners.
- Ability to lead classroom activities that foster inclusive learning environments aligned with Montessori or preschool methodologies if applicable.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor staff while managing classroom routines efficiently in a fast-paced educational setting.
