Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and committed Commercial HVAC/R Technician, to join our team. The Commercial HVAC/R Technician is responsible for the repair, installation, and maintenance of various heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems in commercial buildings such as restaurants, schools, movie theatres and hotels. The ideal candidate will have a solid initial background of experience in this field, be a self-starter and driven to achieve excellence. They will have a can-do attitude, a desire to see the job through to completion to an exceptional standard with the customer’s satisfaction in mind.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC/R equipment, including refrigerated rack systems, RTU’s, compressors, condensers, evaporators, heat exchangers and ice machines within industry-standard times.
Able to replace defrost timers, thermostats, relays, contactors, motors and circuit boards.
Diagnose and repair basic hot side equipment issues.
Handle 4-6 calls per day on average
After hours and weekend work, as well as on-call rotation as required
Order parts and equipment from correct suppliers, with speed of delivery and cost-effectiveness in mind.
Perform thorough preventative maintenance on a wide range of commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
Assist in parts and warranty returns as required.
Complete and submit work order and expense documentation neatly and to completion, daily.
Maintain company property including tools and vehicles to a high standard.
Other duties as directed.
Qualifications, Skills and Tool Requirements:
Minimum of 2-5 years of industry-specific experience (mandatory).
Universal EPA Certified (mandatory).
Experience working with commercial HVAC/R equipment, including refrigerated rack systems, RTU’s, compressors, condensers, evaporators and heat exchangers.
Experience working with hot side equipment (preferred).
Ability to read, understand and follow wiring diagrams.
Excellent and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using powered mobile equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts and telehandlers) considered an asset.
Has comprehensive power tool and hand tools kit.

Work Hours:
7:30am – 4:30pm Weekdays (end time varies during peak season).
After hours, weekend and on call rotation as required.
