Kerpec Management is looking for a reliable Front Desk Clerk for our property management office in Oakland/Pittsburgh.
This is an entry-level office position. The main purpose of the role is to have a dependable person at the front desk to answer phones, greet walk-ins, take messages, help tenants and applicants with basic questions, process simple payments, and escalate anything more complicated to management.
This is a good fit for someone who is dependable, organized, comfortable talking to people, and able to follow written instructions.
Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming phone calls
- Greet tenants, applicants, vendors, and visitors
- Take clear messages and pass them to the correct person
- Answer basic questions using provided scripts and instructions
- Direct non-emergency maintenance requests to the tenant portal
- Escalate urgent maintenance issues to management
- Help schedule or confirm apartment showings
- Process simple card payments using the office credit card machine
- Receive rent checks and organize them properly
- Help with basic filing, scanning, and document organization
- Send basic template emails when instructed
- Keep the front desk area organized
- Help with basic data entry after training
- Escalate complicated tenant, leasing, maintenance, or payment issues to management
What this position does not require:
- No property management experience required
- No leasing approval responsibility
- No maintenance experience required
- No sales experience required
- No advanced accounting experience required
Requirements:

Preferred but not required:
- Previous front desk, receptionist, office, customer service, or administrative experience
- Experience using basic office software or appfolio
- Experience handling payments or receipts
- Experience in a property management, real estate, or leasing office
Schedule:
- Part-time or full-time options available
- Weekday daytime hours

Pay:
- $16–$18 per hour, depending on experience and reliability

About the role:
This is a front desk support position. The goal is to help keep the office covered and organized while management handles higher-level tenant, leasing, maintenance, and accounting issues. Training will be provided, and responsibilities may grow over time for the right person.
