Ascend Ministries Naaman Outpatient Center has an opening for a full time outpatient counselor to provide services at our partner, Keystone Corrections along with a county jail.
Our organization offers a Christian faith-based, adult, long term program and state licensed clinical short term ,detox and outpatient programming for individuals struggling with addiction.
Ideal candidates have experience working with prison release centers or other related work and are comfortable working with incarcerated populations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts client screenings, evaluations and intakes procedures.
- Completes the Psychosocial History, Medical History, and Psychosocial Evaluation.
- Carries a clinical caseload of up to 35 clients, providing 25 billable clinical hours weekly.
- Provide groups to male offenders who are incarcerated at contracted county jails or t Keystone corrections.
- Ideal candidates for this position have the competencies needed to work with the male prison reentry program clientele at this facility and others.
- Takes an active role in the assignment of clients and treatment planning processes.
- Provides direct individual, group and family therapy.
- Assumes that all elements of the treatment plan, including the aftercare plan, are completed within the time limit.
- Assures the client chart(s) is kept in accordance with DDAP and agency policy.
Requirements:
Must have Masters degree in field related to counseling. Must have at least one year of direct counseling experience in either an inpatient, outpatient, partial hospital, or other drug and alcohol related treatment agency, or the required experience by PA State Licensing regulations per degree.
*Must be willing to work 2 evening shifts
*In order to qualify for employment with our corrections partners, applicants must not have any convictions or pending charges for the past 5 years.
If recovering, must have at least 2 years of continuous sobriety. Must be able to pass background requirements for prison system we contract with. Ideal candidates have a passion and appreciation for the Christian mission of our organization
