Overview
Gabe US Incorporated is seeking a highly capable and hands-on Production & Quality Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our dietary supplement gummy manufacturing facility in Lorton, Virginia.
This position plays a key role in managing production activities while coordinating quality assurance, quality control, documentation, material handling, warehousing, and logistics. The ideal candidate will have experience in food, dietary supplement, or gummy manufacturing and a strong understanding of GMP requirements and FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
The position will work closely with production personnel and company management to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, consistently, and in compliance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Production & Operations
- Oversee daily production operations, including raw material weighing, cooking, depositing, curing, packaging, cleaning, and sanitation activities.
- Develop and manage production schedules to ensure manufacturing targets and customer delivery timelines are met.
- Coordinate personnel, equipment, raw materials, and production resources to maintain efficient workflow.
- Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce downtime, minimize waste, and control manufacturing costs.
- Ensure production personnel follow approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Batch Production Records (BPRs), sanitation procedures, and GMP requirements.
- Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate corrective actions when operational problems occur.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary manufacturing environment.
- Coordinate with management, R&D, Quality, Warehouse, and other functions regarding new products, process improvements, and production priorities.
Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Support and coordinate the facility's day-to-day QA and QC activities.
- Ensure incoming raw materials, in-process materials, packaging components, and finished products are properly inspected, sampled, identified, and documented.
- Coordinate or perform required sampling of raw materials and finished products for internal or third-party laboratory testing.
- Review production and quality documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist with investigations of deviations, nonconformances, quality issues, and out-of-specification results.
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), where applicable.
- Help ensure manufacturing and quality activities comply with applicable FDA dietary supplement cGMP requirements, including 21 CFR Part 111.
- Support internal audits, customer audits, regulatory inspections, and other quality-related activities.
- Maintain appropriate segregation and status control of quarantined, approved, rejected, and released materials.
Documentation & Product Release
- Maintain and organize GMP-related documentation, including SOPs, Batch Production Records, specifications, testing records, cleaning records, training records, and other controlled documents.
- Ensure production records are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review completed batch documentation and supporting quality records prior to product release.
- Coordinate finished-product release after confirming required production, quality, and testing requirements have been satisfied.
- Maintain traceability of raw materials, packaging materials, production batches, and finished products.
- Assist with document revisions, record retention, and document-control activities.
Warehouse & Inventory Coordination
- Oversee or coordinate the receipt, identification, quarantine, storage, movement, and release of raw materials and packaging components.
- Maintain appropriate separation and status identification of quarantined, approved, rejected, and released inventory.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products to support production requirements.
- Coordinate material movement between warehouse and production areas while maintaining GMP controls and traceability.
- Support inventory counts and investigate inventory discrepancies when necessary.
Shipping & Logistics
- Coordinate finished-product movement from production to the warehouse and shipping areas.
- Ensure finished products are properly identified, packaged, documented, and released before shipment.
- Coordinate outbound shipments with internal personnel, customers, carriers, and logistics providers as necessary.
- Maintain appropriate shipping and distribution records to support product traceability.
- Help ensure that only properly released finished products are distributed.
Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Train, supervise, and support production and operations personnel.
- Reinforce GMP, food safety, hygiene, documentation, and workplace safety requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, quality systems, material flow, and facility organization.
- Work with management to develop practical solutions to operational and quality challenges.
- Promote a culture of accountability, cleanliness, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Previous experience in food, dietary supplement, nutraceutical, or related manufacturing environments.
- Experience with gummy or confectionery manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP/cGMP).
- Familiarity with FDA dietary supplement regulations, including 21 CFR Part 111, is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and quality-control principles.
- Experience with QA/QC activities, manufacturing documentation, sampling, batch records, or product release is preferred.
- Understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, material status identification, and product traceability.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities across production, quality, warehouse, and logistics functions.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and make sound decisions when production or quality issues arise.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with manufacturing, inventory, or quality-management software.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent relevant manufacturing experience will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with gummy manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Experience working in an FDA-regulated dietary supplement manufacturing facility.
- Experience preparing for or participating in FDA, customer, GMP, or third-party audits.
- Experience with SOPs, Batch Production Records, deviations, CAPA, change controls, and document-control systems.
- Experience coordinating third-party laboratory testing and reviewing Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
- Experience supervising both production and warehouse personnel.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
