Experienced LPN needed for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) clinic providing outpatient services to individuals with opioid and other substance use disorders. The role focuses on safe medication dispensing, supportive nursing care, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a recovery-focused setting.

- Reports to: RN Charge Nurse and Medical Provider
- Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
- Hours: M-F 5a-12:30pm.
The LPN provides direct nursing care, medication administration (including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone per clinic formulary), and health education to adults receiving MAT. The position requires strict adherence to federal, state, and accrediting body standards for opioid treatment programs.
Key responsibilities
- Safely prepare and dispense MAT medications (e.g., methadone, buprenorphine) using two patient identifiers and clinic dosing protocols.
- Obtain vitals, complete nursing screenings, and contribute to ongoing assessment and documentation in the electronic health record.
- Monitor for side effects, withdrawal, or intoxication and promptly report changes in condition to the RN or provider.
- Perform medication counts, maintain accurate controlled-substance inventory, and follow chain-of-custody procedures.
- Collect and process lab specimens and toxicology screens according to policy.
- Provide brief health education on medication safety, harm reduction, and chronic health conditions related to substance use.
- Collaborate with medical, counseling, and case management staff to support integrated, person-centered care.
- Participate in crisis intervention within scope (e.g., de-escalation, emergency response protocols) and escalate appropriately.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted LPN license in Arizona (or compact-eligible) with practice within state LPN scope and under RN/physician supervision.
- Minimum 1 year recent nursing experience in MAT, substance use treatment, behavioral health, corrections, or related setting preferred.
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Working knowledge of substance use disorders, MAT medications, and trauma-informed, nonjudgmental care.
- Comfort with EHR systems and accurate, timely documentation of nursing care and medication activities
