Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate claims to insurance companies using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies, ensuring timely resolution
- Maintain detailed medical records, ensuring all billing information aligns with medical records and coding standards
- Communicate with insurance providers, patients, and healthcare staff to clarify billing issues or discrepancies
- Stay current with evolving medical coding regulations, including updates to ICD coding systems and reimbursement policies
Requirements
- Proven experience in Pediatric medical billing
- Strong knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, DRG classifications, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used in pediatric practices )preferrably EPIC
- Understanding of medical records management and documentation requirements for accurate billing
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure precise coding and claim submission
- Ability to navigate insurance claim processes efficiently and resolve denials proactively
- Prior experience in medical office environments or healthcare administration is highly desirable
