About the role
Performs a variety of quality control tests, inspections, audits on materials and products at various stages of the production process. Under the direction of Quality Manager and Quality Engineers, supports in the management of incoming and in-process inspection work load and gage calibration. Trains and mentors quality inspectors and operations personnel in inspection methods. Aids in the development of inspection plans and inspection processes through the use of MSA and document control processes.
Compensation: $30.00-$36.00
What you will be doing
Evaluate and determine root cause and corrective action for all Quality complaints using problem analysis tools. Implement and document corrective actions. Implement, lead and support team activities to reduce customer complaints. This includes the processing of SCAR reports and prompt answers to customer complaints.
Implements Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and test material returned by customers and assist in material disposition. Support corrective action efforts. Participate in Material Review Board meetings. Assist Manufacturing Engineering, QI Teams and Manufacturing Supervisors in identifying problems indicated by SPC, MRR and customer complaints to assure non-recurrence.
Coordinate SPC data collection, including retrieval, updating and initiation of records. Analyze statistical data and trends, facilitate corrective action efforts.
Audit and test in-coming raw material, subcontract and purchased product, and analyze in-coming SPC and quality documentation, work with and assist suppliers in continuous improvement efforts related to Southco, Inc. purchased product and raw material.
Furnish reports and maintain all division Q.A. records and documentation. Provide First Piece Inspection reports and initial sample submissions for all new products and assist with any specific customer requirements
Perform final audits, dock audits, and periodic layout inspections of stock product. Audit and review all control and testing procedures for all in-process production.
Assist in processing of customer complaints to ensure customer has quick response with immediate corrective action.
About you
High School Diploma and two-year Associates or equivalent degree
PC Knowledge and familiarity with one or more statistical software tools
3+ years knowledge of Southco Manufacturing processes preferred.
Ability to work on a team or independently while juggling multiple priorities.
Working knowledge of SPC and basic statistics.
6-10 years of experience in their area of expertise
