Job Summary
Serves as the primary contact for community referral sources. Processes referrals received. Verifies insurance, and ensures reimbursement criteria are met for prescribed items and services. Creates clean claims in an effort to streamline cash flow for the company. Confirms all deliveries of equipment and/or services in the billing system monthly.
Essential Functions
- Educates patients on the proper use of equipment and/or services offered.
- Verifies primary payers for coverage criteria and communicates any financial obligation to the customer.
- Obtains initial pre-certification or authorization for prescribed equipment and/or services as dictated by patient's insurance.
- Researches qualifying reimbursement data in effort to create initial clean claims for third party payers.
- Confirms all deliveries of equipment and/or services in the billing system monthly.
Physical Requirements
Work requires long periods of sitting and manual dexterity.
Education, Experience and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years' experience in a medical retail, medical office setting or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
