Position overview
A busy, patient-centered surgical practice based at CentraState Medical Center is seeking full-time Certified Medical Assistant to support a board-certified gastrointestinal surgeon specializing in bariatric surgery, minimally invasive hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, and GLP-1–assisted medical weight management.
This role is well suited for a tech-comfortable, clinically-focused medical assistant who is eager to learn, adaptable, and genuinely enjoys patient care and interaction. This long-established surgical practice emphasizes long-term health, lifestyle-based weight management, and minimally invasive GI care.
Key responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical histories
- Assist the surgeon during clinic visits and post-operative follow-ups
- Steps in where needed to ensure efficient daily operational workflow
- Assist with GLP-1 patient visits, including injections and patient education
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical supplies
- Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC EHR
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients
- Maintain strict clinical, safety, and infection-control protocols
Qualifications
- Certified medical assistant (CMA or RMA)
- Comfortable using electronic health records; EMR experience preferred
- Strong clinical skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, professional, and patient-focused
- Comfortable in a technology-driven medical practice
- Willing to learn new skills and grow with the role
Preferred experience
- Experience in surgical, GI or bariatric practice
- Experience assisting with injections or post-surgical care
- Familiarity with weight loss/management or lifestyle-focused care models
Work environment
- Hospital-based outpatient setting a medical office setting.
- High-volume clinic with an emphasis on minimally invasive surgery and metabolic health
- Collaborative, physician-led team focused on friendly, personalized, high-quality patient care

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 9 am - 5 pm

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
