Classroom Support Specialist
Villa di Maria Montessori School is seeking Classroom Support Specialists to work with children ages 14 months to 12 years. The ideal candidate:
- Works collaboratively with Guides and Assistants to create a safe, healthy, nurturing environment supporting each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth and development.
- Works well with administrative tasks and duties; is a self starter who can spot needs and identify solutions.
- Has experience and a love of working with and alongside young children.
- Is kind, reliable, creative, organized, and consistent.
- This job requires the individual to be physically and mentally present for the children; reliability is critical.
- Is professional, mature, and has a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Communicates clearly and positively when speaking and in writing.
- Is a strong team player.
- Works well with parents.
- Is curious, loves to have fun, and learn new things.
- Has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood development, education, or a related field.
- Has experience working in an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) School OR a willingness to learn and implement Montessori.
AMI training is a plus, but not required.
This is a year-round position, and the hours are 9:30 - 5:30 daily but may require schedule shifts depending on classroom needs. On certain days, hours could be 8:00 to 4:00.
Pay is commensurate with experience.

Pay: $37,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year

- Working in an environment with young children ages 14 months to 3 years means that, especially when we welcome new children, there may be periods of time when a child or children are crying. Are you comfortable with crying, and how would you handle it if the crying felt overwhelming?

- Our Support Specialist will work with children ages 14 months to 12 years. Working with children ages 14 months to 3 years requires assisting children working toward toilet independence. There are 12 children per classroom, and this means a fair amount of time is spent assisting children in the restroom. Is this something you are comfortable doing?
