We are seeking a dynamic and experienced 3rd Shift working Maintenance Supervisor to lead our Sanitation team and support our Maintenance team during overnight hours.
Job Description: 3rd Shift Maintenance Supervisor – Food Manufacturing
Position Summary
The 3rd Shift Maintenance Supervisor plays a dual‑function leadership role within the facility, providing direct supervision and operational oversight to the Sanitation Team while also performing general maintenance activities across the plant. This position ensures that sanitation operations run efficiently, equipment is functioning properly, and the facility maintains compliance with food safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
This role reports to the Senior FSQA Manager, with a dotted‑line reporting relationship to the Senior Manager of Maintenance & Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Sanitation Team Leadership
- Provide nightly supervision, direction, and support to the sanitation crew to ensure all cleaning, disassembly, reassembly, and sanitation tasks are completed safely, effectively, and on schedule.
- Verify that sanitation procedures meet regulatory, customer, and internal FSQA standards, including GMPs, allergen controls, environmental monitoring, and pre‑operational inspection readiness.
- Train, coach, and develop sanitation employees in proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Conduct routine walkthroughs and inspections to validate sanitation effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with FSQA to resolve sanitation‑related issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Maintenance & Engineering Support
- Perform general maintenance tasks on sanitation‑related equipment (e.g., CIP systems, foamers, pumps, conveyors, wash stations) and broader plant equipment as needed.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues that arise during 3rd shift operations.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance & Engineering team to communicate equipment status, escalate complex repairs, and support preventive maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper documentation of work orders, repairs, and maintenance logs.
- Assist in equipment changeovers, adjustments, and minor rebuilds required for sanitation or production readiness.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all safety policies, including LOTO, chemical safety, PPE usage, and safe equipment operation.
- Ensure sanitation and maintenance activities comply with FDA, USDA, OSHA, and company standards.
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture through coaching, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Operational Coordination
- Communicate effectively with Production, FSQA, and Maintenance leadership regarding nightly progress, issues, and resource needs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to sanitation efficiency, equipment reliability, and plant performance.
- Maintain staffing levels, schedules, and shift coverage for the sanitation team.
- Monitor inventory of sanitation supplies, chemicals, tools, and spare parts.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in food manufacturing, sanitation, or industrial maintenance; supervisory experience required.
- Working knowledge of sanitation procedures, food safety regulations, and environmental monitoring programs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.
- Ability to lead teams, communicate clearly, and work independently on 3rd shift.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems, work orders, and maintenance documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in wet, humid, and cold environments as required.

The schedule for this position is 9:30pm - 6:00am, M-F. Pay is determined based on education, experience, and skill set. There is an additional 15% shift differential for this role. the schedule does shift to 7 days per week, 12 hour days during our annual Blueberry Harvest (July through September).
Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
