Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Radiologic Technician Apprentice to join our healthcare team. This entry-level role is designed for individuals who are eager to begin a career in diagnostic imaging while receiving hands-on training from experienced radiologic technologists. As an apprentice, you will learn how to safely operate imaging equipment, support patient care, and assist with diagnostic procedures while building the skills needed for a successful career in medical imaging.
Responsibilities
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Interest in pursuing a career as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Enrollment in or willingness to participate in a Radiologic Technician apprenticeship or accredited training program.
- Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety protocols, and healthcare policies.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning and movement.
- Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe) may be required.
Requirements
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent) with valid licensure where applicable.
- Proven experience operating diagnostic radiology equipment including X-ray, fluoroscopy, CT scans, PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, ultrasound (sonography), nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology tools.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology essential for accurate image acquisition and interpretation support.
- Prior experience working in emergency medicine settings or Level I/II trauma centers is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and implementing protective measures during all procedures.
- Ability to perform diagnostic radiology procedures efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
- Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques for invasive imaging procedures and maintaining sterile environments when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in healthcare, customer service, or patient-facing roles is a plus but not required.
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent) with valid licensure is a plus but not required.
- Interest in medical imaging, healthcare, or diagnostic technology.
