Job Overview
We are looking for an engaging and creative individual to join our team teaching weekly art classes for grades K-8, weekly PE classes for grades K-2, and being a helper in our school garden. The teacher will encourage creativity and physical health, develops artistic skills, and support the mission and values of the school. This part-time position requires 4.5 hours per day for all full school days from 11 am-3:30 pm. No weekend, holiday, school break, or summer hours.

Qualifications:
- Must have previous experience working with school age children.
- Possess basic knowledge and understanding of school aged children.
- Be a self-starter and perform the job with little to no supervision.
- Possess the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to pass VECHS Level II Screening.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise students during all classroom activities and duties
- Communicate directly with parents, faculty, staff and administration as needed
- Work with various age/grade groups
- Implement age-appropriate activities
- Account for and ensure the safety of each student
- Ensure appropriate conduct of the student in regard to respect and safety towards each other, to adults and school property
- Maintain clean and organized classroom
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Other Responsibilities
- Reflect the mission of the school, which is to provide an excellent education rooted in God’s word. Teachers are expected to integrate biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities.
- Lead students to a realization of their value in Christ.
- Cooperate with the administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the School.
- Recognize the need for good public relations and represent the School in a favorable and professional manner to the school’s constituency and the general public.
- Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity, and consideration.
- Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with conflict with students, parents, staff, and administration.
- Know and respond appropriately to the procedures for dealing with issues of an emergency nature.
