A Line Cook plays a key role in kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, cooking menu items to specification, and maintaining a clean, efficient workstation. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with a team approach, and a commitment to food quality and safety. Reports to Head Chef.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and quality expectations
- Set up and stock stations with necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation throughout service
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and storage
- Assist with prep work such as chopping vegetables, making sauces, and portioning ingredients
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly
- Support the team by assisting with inventory, receiving deliveries, and rotating stock
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a line cook or prep cook
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Will need to have ServSafe certification or within 30 days of employment
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30–50 lbs.

- Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required
- Exposure to heat, steam, and kitchen equipment
