We are seeking a dedicated orthodontic assistant experienced preferred (willing to train the right candidate) who can welcome our patients in a caring, friendly manner to join our dynamic team. The candidate should be a team player with superb customer service skills; who possess excellent organizational skills and is reliable.
Qualification/Requirements:
Dental experience preferred
High School Diploma or GED
Certification or Diploma in Dental Assisting or related field.
X-Ray Certification (or willing to study and acquire)
CPR Certification preferred
Pass all Child Clearancesrequiredfor employment
Responsibilities/ Duties- May include but are not limited to:
- Assist the orthodontist in providing high-quality orthodontic care to patients
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques
- Take and develop X-rays as directed by the orthodontist w/ x-ray certification
- Assist with orthodontic procedures, including placing and removing braces, adjusting wires, and taking impressions
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide instructions for care of orthodontic appliances
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic systems such as Edge
-Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy
-All other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Proficient in using dental software systems such as Edge for scheduling and record keeping
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with X-ray equipment and techniques
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Occasionally lift, carry, push or drag boxes and /or equipment up to 20 lbs. Frequently operate computer, answer phone and operate other electronic equipment.
