Position Summary
Collins Surgical is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Purchasing Assistant to join our growing team. This role is responsible for supporting daily purchasing and order processing activities, creating sales orders, coordinating with vendors, and working closely with both the Sales Team and Purchasing Director to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong organizational skills, and thrives on accuracy and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Process incoming orders and create sales orders within company systems
- Assist with purchasing products from vendors to fulfill customer demand
- Work closely with the Purchasing Director to manage inventory and procurement activities
- Collaborate with the Sales Team to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment
- Monitor order status and follow up with vendors regarding shipment timelines
- Resolve order discrepancies and communicate updates to internal teams
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, orders, and vendor communications
- Assist with inventory management and replenishment activities
- Support special projects and operational initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous experience in purchasing, customer service, order processing, inventory management, or administrative support preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Experience with ERP, DME, healthcare, or inventory management systems is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
