Eastern Shore Communications, a high-speed internet service, telephone and HD television service provider is seeking QUALIFIED TECHNICIANS with necessary tools and equipment to install these services. We are looking for a FIBER Technician in Camden, North Carolina.
Work schedules are flexible and hours can vary with available work.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and expand existing fiber plant.
- Maintain and update fiber documentation.
- Arrive at customer's location on time with a professional appearance and friendly demeanor.
- Evaluate customer site to determine suitability for service, explain options and advise customer.
- Install required equipment to provide service to customer, including accessing roof and/or crawl space of building as necessary.
- Complete installation meeting service delivery stand, top quality workmanship, and clean up job site.
- Assist customer in connecting devices to service including PC and Mac computers, other WiFi devices including game consoles, tablets, smartphones, etc.
- Troubleshoot and repair problems at existing customer locations.
- Assist with other tasks as assigned.
- Skills / Abilities and Knowledge:
- Ability to use the following hand tools: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, fish tape/rods.
- Ability to complete documentation for service.
- Ability to perform job from high and confined places (i.e. roofs, towers, crawl spaces).
- Ability to install data cabling and wiring (Cat6/Cat5e Cabling & Jacks).
- Ability to prep and splice fiber optic cables.
- Ability to travel to and from assigned jobs and company facilities.
- Ability to work outside for extended periods in any season and/or during inclement weather.
- Familiarity with computer operating systems, home networking, and other consumer and commercial communications devices (e.g., PDAs, smartphones, routers, modems, converters, and wireless devices).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $41,947.00 - $58,947.00 per year
Experience:
- Broadband Installation: 1 year (Preferred)
- Fiber Optic: 1 year (Preferred)
