Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed to support chefs and kitchen staff
- Clear and buss tables promptly to maintain cleanliness in dining areas
- Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of pots, pans, and bulk supplies while adhering to proper manual handling techniques
- Maintain sanitation standards by regularly cleaning workstations, floors, and storage areas in accordance with kitchen health and safety standards
- Support food handling procedures to ensure compliance with food safety management practices
Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety protocols and sanitation procedures
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of kitchen operations
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Familiarity with operating commercial dishwashing machines and basic kitchen equipment
- Excellent attention to detail in cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards
- Knowledge of food preparation basics and food handling practices
