Job Title: Construction Superintendent
Job Description
This role leads ground-up construction projects for utility buildings, overseeing multiple projects simultaneously while coordinating closely with the end client and on-site teams. The Construction Superintendent ensures projects meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations while maintaining a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day field operations for ground-up utility building projects from start to completion.

Manage and coordinate multiple construction projects at the same time, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met.

Collaborate closely with the end client and on-site stakeholders to align construction activities with project requirements and expectations.

Lead, direct, and support on-site teams, including subcontractors and trade partners, to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to plans and specifications.

Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and proactively resolve conflicts or delays in the field.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company procedures throughout all phases of construction.

Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents, and communicate requirements clearly to field teams.

Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and sequencing of work to optimize productivity and minimize disruptions.

Report project status to leadership and project stakeholders, including updates on schedule, quality, and field conditions.

Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance field processes, efficiency, and quality on current and future projects.
Essential Skills-
5 or more years of experience working for a general contractor or owner on construction projects.

5 or more years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, Sr. Superintendent, or equivalent field leadership role.

Proven ground-up construction experience, including responsibility for building utility or similar structures.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple construction jobs at the same time.

Experience working directly with end clients, including coordinating expectations and maintaining strong professional relationships.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience working with a construction management or general contractor organization on projects in the $20–$50 million range.

Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, and field coordination.

Ability to lead field teams effectively and maintain a safe, organized jobsite.
Additional Skills & Qualifications-
Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is highly beneficial and preferred.

Experience with complex, large-scale construction environments and multi-year project engagements.

Strong communication skills to collaborate with on-site teams, clients, and project stakeholders.

Proven ability to adapt to evolving project needs and growth opportunities within a larger project team.
Work Environment
This role is fully site-based and requires working on a large, long-term project within a major technology campus. You will sit onsite with the client’s team and collaborate closely with their personnel on a daily basis. The project team is expected to grow to approximately 20 people by the end of the year, creating significant opportunities for professional growth and expanded responsibility. The organization has secured a three-year engagement on this site, providing a stable, multi-year project environment. The work focuses primarily on construction and related activities within a controlled industrial setting, where adherence to site protocols, safety requirements, and professional attire appropriate for a construction and client-facing environment is expected.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Clara, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
