The Design Engineer is responsible for the complete mechanical design of custom process systems — from concept through fabrication — with full accountability for design quality, manufacturability, maintainability, and operability. The ideal candidate applies structured design practices, produces fabrication-ready documentation, and actively supports the shop during construction to ensure compliance with drawings and project standards. They bring a strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset, consistently looking for ways to refine design practices, raise quality standards, and increase efficiency. This position reports to the Engineering Manager and operates within a small, collaborative team environment.

- Read and interpret P&IDs to inform and drive mechanical design decisions
- Support shop fabrication as the primary engineering reference; conduct in-process and final inspections to verify compliance with drawings and project standards
- Coordinate with the Project Manager on scheduling and milestones to ensure deadlines are met across concurrent projects
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to resolve technical queries and confirm component suitability
- Review equipment literature and installation documentation to understand requirements and guarantee optimal system functionality
