Overview
Al Safinah is hiring an enthusiastic and personable Sales Associate to represent our Perfume Bar at Harlem Irving Plaza (HIP Mall) in Norridge, Illinois. This is a six-month, part-time position designed for someone who enjoys fragrance, connecting with people, and turning conversations into memorable customer experiences.

Al Safinah is a luxury scent and personal-care house rooted in cultural heritage, craftsmanship, and modern performance. At our Perfume Bar, customers explore fragrance notes and create personalized scents through an interactive, guided experience.
Responsibilities
- Warmly approach and engage mall shoppers
- Start natural conversations and invite customers to experience the Perfume Bar
- Guide customers through fragrance notes, scent profiles, and custom perfume creation
- Explain products clearly and confidently
- Convert customer interest into purchases through thoughtful recommendations
- Upsell and cross-sell products without creating a high-pressure experience
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually polished kiosk
- Restock bottles, fragrance materials, packaging, and other supplies
- Follow all fragrance-handling, sanitation, and operating procedures
- Represent Al Safinah with professionalism, warmth, and enthusiasm
Ideal Candidate
- Previous retail, customer-service, or sales experience
- Enthusiastic, approachable, personable, and confident
- Comfortable initiating conversations with new people
- Able to understand customer preferences and recommend suitable products
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and sales-conversion skills
- Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently
- Interested in perfumery, fragrance notes, or perfume making
- Able to remain standing throughout the scheduled shift and perform normal kiosk duties, with reasonable accommodations when needed
- Fragrance or perfume-making experience is strongly preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong sales ability, curiosity, professionalism, and a genuine interest in fragrance.
Position Details
- Location: Al Safinah Perfume Bar at Harlem Irving Plaza, 4104 N. Harlem Avenue, Norridge, IL 60706
- Employment type: Part-time, temporary six-month position
- Regular schedule: Every Friday, covering the full scheduled shift
- Additional availability: Willingness to work select holidays or additional shifts when extra support is needed
- Expected start: August 20, 2026
- Compensation: $17.50 per hour, plus performance bonuses ranging from $30 to $75 per shift based on clearly defined sales targets. All required training is paid.
