Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) and Associate Director of Nursing (ADON) in planning, organizing, implementing, and overseeing daily nursing operations in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
Supervise nursing staff to ensure adherence to clinical standards, job responsibilities, and facility policies
Participate in state and federal surveys and inspections
Develop, implement, and review resident care plans on an ongoing basis
Conduct annual performance evaluations for LPNs and CNAs
Implement progressive disciplinary actions, including verbal and written counseling, up to and including termination
Assist with hiring decisions, including onboarding and probationary evaluations
Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, families, and nursing leadership regarding care and concerns
Ensure appropriate staffing levels across all shifts to maintain quality care
Conduct daily nursing rounds and report findings to the DON
Address staff concerns and grievances, escalating when necessary
Welcome and orient newly admitted residents as needed
Attend daily morning meetings and interdisciplinary reports
Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and conduct audits
Nursing home experience required
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing home, or related healthcare setting
At least 6 months of rehabilitative and restorative nursing experience
Active, unencumbered RN or LPN license in New Jersey
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Strong knowledge of nursing practices, medical procedures, and long-term care regulations
Ability to make independent clinical and operational decisions
Proven leadership and team-building skills
Excellent organizational and communication abilities
Willingness to adopt best practices and innovative care approaches
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
