Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensures that all Company safety rules and procedures (including site-specific regulations) are being strictly adhered to by all Project Team members.

Conducts a minimum of one safety audit of a project site per month (more are encouraged).

Working closely with Operations Manager, Construction Manager, and other Project Managers to develop and grow regional labor and equipment resources, refine operations procedures, and expand our technical capabilities.

Collaborating with regional sales and design team members.
-
Supporting regional sales and business development efforts by attending and trade shows, conferences and technical presentations.
-
Serves as the main point of contract both internally and externally for clients and stakeholders.
-
Coordinating with engineers and general contractors to ensure design and construction requirements are met.

Managing contract negotiations with clients, including preparing scope of work documents.
-
Tracking, preparing and negotiating change orders and claims.
-
Material and equipment buyout including negotiating with suppliers and vendors.
-
Scheduling of projects in logical steps within time required to meet contractual and internal schedules.

Responsible for review of contract documents & specifications and preparation of RFI’s.

Provides input and/or reviews design, drawing, & construction submittals with Design Engineers.

Identify potential project risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.

Generating initial and monthly project financial budgets and forecasts.

Review and approve invoices and payments for subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
-
Responsible for timely project invoicing and payment collections from clients.

Responsible for project activities that include quality control, documentation, submittal preparation and data analysis, equipment and labor allocations, as well as running small work crews when necessary.

Holds project kickoff & planning meetings.

Conducts pre-construction site visits to determine if there are any site access issues (including both on and off site), working pad preparedness, and overhead obstructions/restrictions.

Works closely with the Engineering Department and the Project Manager to ensure that all project quality requirements are met.

Provides input and/or reviews bids regional estimators and sales department, as needed.

Knowledge of construction practices including but not limited to, contract claims and management, dispute resolution, cost control, means & methods, skilled trades, and equipment.

Thorough understanding of labor agreements (including but not limited to Union agreements).

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field. 5 years of experience in construction project management in heavy civil construction. Prior geotechnical construction experience is a plus.
-OR- any equivalent combination of education and experience which meets the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Certifications, Licenses, Etc:
Required: OSHA 30
Desired: P.E., PMP
