American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ year of experience for a day shift assignment supporting adult critical care and emergency department patients.

Work in a hospital setting within the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit
-
Adult critical care and emergency department patient population
-
Typically works independently on shift
-
Uses Bellavista and Avea ventilators
-
Uses Siemens RapidPoint 500e ABG analyzers
-
Cerner charting system required
-
Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (3x12 hours)
-
36 hours per week with every other weekend required
-
Active PA RRT license in hand required, license required if applicable
-
BLS certification required
-
Minimum 1 year of experience required (CRT candidates with 5+ years experience also considered)

Cerner charting system experience required
-
Community hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
-
Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
-
Experience with oxygen therapy delivery methods including HFNC, T-piece, and trach collar
-
Ventilator management skills including BiPAP, CPAP, alarm troubleshooting, and weaning from mechanical ventilation

One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration

Provide respiratory care services including airway management, suctioning, and ventilator management for critically ill adult patients

Perform sputum specimen collection and tracheostomy care/management

First-time travelers will be considered for this role

Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible

Pewter gray scrubs required
-
Candidates must complete PA fingerprinting and ChildLine registration within 48 hours of signing a contract

Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract

Previous permanent or per diem employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
