Job Overview
Seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to my father in my home. This vital role involves assisting him with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence while delivering personalized, respectful, and professional care. As an In Home Caregiver, you will play a key part in enhancing the quality of life for those you serve, fostering a warm and trusting environment that encourages well-being and dignity.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices.
- Monitor patients’ health by observing vital signs, medication adherence, and overall condition, reporting any concerns.
- Support clients with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by healthcare providers.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia (including Alzheimer’s disease), or autism spectrum disorder, fostering social engagement.
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA and update care plans as needed to reflect changing needs.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in home & community care settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication management.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder, is desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using physical stamina for long shifts is essential.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients’ families and healthcare teams.
