Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach, where your passion for sports and mentorship will inspire young athletes to reach their full potential! In this role, you will work closely with the head coach to develop training programs, enhance players' skills, and foster teamwork and sportsmanship. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help create a positive and motivating environment for our student-athletes.
This position would require regular attendance at practices after school as well as scheduled games and tournaments, which may require team travel via bus/van. This position offers a stipend. This position will be active year round.
Position: Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach
Salary: $4,000 stipend, paid in 4 equal installments at conclusion of each athletic season and meeting all coaching obligations (summer, fall, winter, and spring). $1,000 signing bonus paid two weeks after holding regular practices and coaching cheer at first football home game. Additional $250 bonus paid for each post season competition that team competes in to compensate for additional coaching time.
Summer Camp: A summer camp will be held Monday - Thursday, July 6th - July 16th, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
What you’ll do
- Plan and conduct daily basketball practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
- Develop game plans and prepare athletes for competitions.
- Foster a positive team culture by promoting sportsmanship, respect, and collaboration among players.
- Monitor athletes’ progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their performance.
- Collaborate with parents, faculty, and administration to ensure a supportive environment for student-athletes.
- Manage game day operations, including warm-ups, player substitutions, and strategy adjustments.
- Implement behavior management techniques to maintain discipline during practices and games.
Basic qualifications
- Experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education is required.
- Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and strategies.
- Proven ability to work effectively with students of varying skill levels.
Well qualified applicants will have experience coaching Basketball and meet all employment requirements including:
- First Aid Certification: Must be able to obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification.
- IVP Clearance Card: Obtain and Maintain a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance card issued by Arizona DPS.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License
- NFHS Courses: Certification issued by NFHS (Fundamentals of Coaching; Concussion in Sports; First Aid, Health and Safety; Bullying and Hazing)
