Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and overall health status regularly to ensure safety and well-being
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Support clients with Alzheimer's, dementia, autism, or developmental disabilities through specialized memory and behavioral care techniques
- Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers safely using proper techniques
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces
- Observe and report any changes in health or behavior promptly to healthcare professionals or family members
Experience
- Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring required
- Hands-on experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges such as autism or dementia is highly valued
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is essential; additional certifications like HIPAA compliance are advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts
- Familiarity with creating and following care plans tailored to individual needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, families, and clients to ensure comprehensive care
