Job Title: Quick Lube Technician

Job Summary:
The Lube Technician is responsible for performing basic vehicle maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid top-offs, and other routine services to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently. This is an entry-level role designed for individuals with fundamental automotive knowledge and a willingness to grow within the service department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform basic oil changes on various makes and models according to OEM and dealership standards.
- Rotate and balance tires to ensure proper vehicle handling and safety.
- Inspect and replace wiper blades as needed.
- Conduct Multi-Point Vehicle Inspections (MPVI) and report findings to service advisors.
- Top off essential fluids, including coolant, brake fluid, and windshield washer fluid.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with dealership and OSHA safety standards.
- Adhere to manufacturer guidelines and training protocols under Training Category – Fundamentals.
- Ensure proper disposal of used oil, filters, and other hazardous materials per environmental regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service and assist in explaining basic maintenance services when necessary.
Duties of All Technicians:
- Fill out vehicle report card for all vehicles per company operating policies.
- Effectively complete 3C's (Concern, Cause, and Correction) and provide additional documentation as required in RO write-up.
- Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or General Motors Policies and Procedures within the labor time guides allotted.
- Comply with all GM and company policies regarding punch times and OLH (Operation Labor Hours).
- Work with the Parts department in returning warranty parts and cores according to policy.
- Road test each vehicle to diagnose concerns and verify repairs.
- Complete any additional training as required by management.
- Utilize General Motors' (GM) dealer portalto provide necessary information and technical details regarding repairs.
- Report any damaged or unsafe equipment, tools, or other conditions as they occur.
- Follow dealership operating procedures.
- Perform all tasks deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous automotive service experience is a plus but not required.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to oil, grease, fumes, and high-noise environments.
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures, including extreme heat or cold.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a dealership service department with exposure to mechanical equipment, chemicals, and moving vehicles.
- Fast-paced setting with an emphasis on teamwork and safety.
