We are seeking a skilled Residential Electrical Journeyman to join our dynamic team and deliver top-tier electrical services for residential projects. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in homes, ensuring all work complies with local electrical codes and safety standards. Duties
- Install, inspect, and repair electrical wiring, outlets, switches, and fixtures in residential settings using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults or inefficiencies.
- Ensure all work adheres to NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards, local electrical codes, and safety procedures.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring for appliances or systems that require specialized handling while maintaining strict safety protocols.
- Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovation projects to coordinate electrical work seamlessly with framing carpentry and other trades.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to ensure ongoing safety and functionality, addressing issues proactively.
Experience
- Proven experience as an electrician working on residential projects with a strong understanding of electrical systems in homes.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Hands-on experience with industrial and commercial electrical systems is a plus, especially in troubleshooting complex circuits.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), and local electrical codes is essential.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, high-voltage wiring, and electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters.
- Construction site experience including renovation projects, framing carpentry coordination, and handyman skills is highly desirable.
- Ability to work safely following electrical safety procedures while managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
