Position Summary
We are seeking a creative and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and treating clients with a focus on improving their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs). You will address sensory processing and integration, fine and gross motor skills, visual-motor skills, self-care routines, and social-emotional regulation to help clients participate fully in home, school, and community life. You will work as a key member of our collaborative team, which includes Speech-Language Pathologists, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), to provide holistic care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess clients' functional abilities, sensory profiles, and motor development using standardized assessments, clinical observations, and caregiver interviews.
- Develop and implement creative, client-centered treatment plans with functional, measurable goals to enhance independence and participation.
- Provide high-quality, direct therapy services in both individual and group settings, utilizing evidence-based and play-based approaches.
- Design and implement sensory diets and environmental modifications to support optimal arousal levels and sensory regulation.
- Guide clients in developing fine motor skills for academic tasks, gross motor skills for play, and practical skills for self-care (e.g., dressing, feeding, grooming).
- Provide training, guidance, and education to parents, caregivers, and other professionals on therapeutic strategies and home programming.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, including evaluation reports, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive client care.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications (Required)
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited university.
- Current and unrestricted license to practice Occupational Therapy from the Alabama State Board of Occupational Therapy (ASBOT).
- Initial certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- A minimum of one year of experience in a pediatric clinical setting.
- Demonstrated experience and passion for working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum.
- Advanced training or certification in sensory integration (SIPT certification is a plus).
- Experience with various therapeutic frameworks such as the Zones of Regulation®, Handwriting Without Tears®, and DIR/Floortime.
- Knowledge of feeding therapy from an OT perspective, addressing sensory aversions and oral motor skills.

- Full-Time Salaried Positions: Typical salary ranges for full-time OTs in the Huntsville area fall between $70,000 and $95,000+ annually. Our offers will be competitive within this range based on experience level and clinical skills.
- Part-Time/PRN Hourly Rates: Typical hourly rates in the Huntsville area for OTs range from $42 to $55+ per hour. Our hourly compensation will be competitive and based on experience and commitment.
