Clinical Nurse Manager
Mitchell Family Medicine | Marion, AR
The Role
Are you the person your team calls first when they need to solve a problem? Do you thrive in high-energy environments where every day brings new challenges and your leadership directly impacts patient care?
We're looking for a Clinical Nurse Manager to be the operational backbone of Mitchell Family Medicine—a 10-provider clinic handling 45,000 patient visits annually. You'll own the clinical operations that make our high-volume practice run like a well-orchestrated team. This isn't a desk job. This is hands-on leadership where you're part clinician, part troubleshooter, and 100% committed to making sure every patient has the best possible experience.
You'll be the go-to person for every clinical staff member—the one who understands every workflow in our clinic, and who can jump in when things get complicated. You'll lead with compassion in a practice with a genuine family atmosphere, but you'll also hold the line on clinical excellence, compliance, and operational efficiency.
What You'll Do Leadership & Operations
- Supervise nursing staff including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and professional development
- Manage clinical schedules to ensure optimal staffing for our high-volume practice
- Master our EHR systems across all clinic modules—become the clinical expert that providers and staff turn to for system questions, workflow optimization, and troubleshooting
- Develop and implement nursing policies in compliance with state regulations, HIPAA, and organizational standards
- Drive quality and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency
- Coordinate with clinical teams on discharge planning, utilization review, and care coordination efforts
- Serve as the face of clinical support—the person patients, staff, and providers rely on when they need answers fast
Clinical Duties (as needed)
- Patient assessment and triage—vital signs, chief complaints, allergy verification, medication reconciliation
- Specimen collection for diagnostic testing and lab support
- Procedure assistance with provider-directed in-office procedures
- Clinical documentation in EHR including consents, histories, and medical records management
- Medication administration and medication inventory management
- Health maintenance support—immunizations, preventive care coordination
- Staff training on EHR best practices, clinical protocols, and new procedures
Administration & Compliance
- Document management—scanning records, maintaining accurate EHR documentation per our timelines
- Supply and inventory management for nursing and clinical supplies
- Scheduling and PTO management for nursing staff
- Licensure tracking for all nursing and MA staff (maintain certifications and compliance)
- Equipment maintenance—refrigerator/freezer monitoring for vaccines and medications per state guidelines
- Policy adherence and codes of conduct enforcement
Required Qualifications
- LPN or RN with valid, in-date Arkansas or Compact State nursing license
- Proven managerial or supervisory experience in a clinical setting (minimum 3+ years preferred)
- Strong communication skills—you explain complex clinical or operational issues clearly to staff at all levels
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities—you juggle multiple priorities without dropping anything
- Knowledge of patient care including medication administration, vital signs assessment, and basic clinical procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications a plus)
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Epic EHR or similar electronic health record systems (we provide comprehensive training)
- Experience in a high-volume ambulatory or primary care setting
- Background in quality improvement or process optimization
Ideal Candidate
- Loves working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Has proven leadership experience solving complex operational problems
- Is clinically curious—you want to understand not just what works, but why
- Thrives in a family-oriented culture where relationships matter as much as efficiency
- Is reliable and detail-oriented—compliance and accuracy are non-negotiables
- Has problem-solving instincts—when something breaks, you figure out how to fix it

The Day-to-Day
Monday morning, a nurse calls with an EHR question. By 9 AM, you've helped solve it and trained another staff member on the process. Mid-morning, you're sitting in a procedure room assisting the provider. Lunchtime, you're reviewing the weekly staffing schedule and addressing a coverage gap. Afternoon, you're meeting with new-hire orientation and reviewing compliance documentation. Before you leave, you've already planned the week's nursing priorities and touched base with three different departments.
It's fast. It's varied. It matters.
