Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including oral examinations and medical history reviews, to develop personalized treatment plans
- Perform dental procedures such as dental cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canal therapy, extractions, and prosthodontics with precision and care
- Utilize dental imaging techniques and anatomical knowledge to diagnose conditions accurately and plan effective treatments
- Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Document all treatments accurately in medical records using dental terminology and electronic health record systems like Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and preventive care to promote long-term oral health
- Collaborate with dental assistants and hygienists in four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
Requirements
- Valid dental license to practice in the respective state or region
- Proven experience in general dentistry with proficiency in dental fabrication, endodontics (including root canal therapy), oral surgery, and prosthodontics
- Familiarity with electronic dental records systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards
- Ability to perform dental extractions and other surgical procedures safely and effectively
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including pediatrics (pediatric dentistry)
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance for safeguarding patient information and medical documentation standards
- Experience working in a busy dental clinic or office environment with a focus on quality care delivery
