Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
- Upsell menu items including cocktails, wines, spirits, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Handle sales transactions accurately, including cash handling and processing credit card payments
- Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, including food safety standards, wine pairings, and cocktail recipes
- Assist with food handling, sanitation, bussing tables, and supporting kitchen staff when needed to ensure smooth operations
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of food service operations in fine dining or casual settings
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build guest relations and handle guest inquiries professionally
- Culinary experience or food industry background preferred; familiarity with food preparation and sanitation practices essential
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while multitasking seamlessly
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail creation, and upselling techniques to enhance guest experiences
- Previous host/hostess or serving experience is a plus; basic math skills for cash handling and sales transactions are necessary
