Do you enjoy working with food, staying active, and being part of a team that creates high-quality products? Food for Thought is looking for an Assistant Cook to support daily food production and help keep operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to learn different areas of production and grow your skills.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, measure, weigh, and organize ingredients for production
- Assist with cooking, mixing, batching, and recipe preparation
- Set up, clean, and maintain production equipment
- Support packaging, production lines, and material handling as needed
- Complete production records accurately and in real time
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
- Help with cleaning, organization, and end-of-day production readiness
- Work with team members across production to meet daily goals
What We're Looking For
- Food production, commercial kitchen, manufacturing, or related experience preferred
- Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and instructions accurately
- Basic math skills for measuring and weighing ingredients
- Strong attention to detail and food safety practices
- Dependable attendance and a team-first attitude
- Willingness to learn new tasks and support different production areas
- Better Process Control School (BPCS) certification preferred, or willingness to obtain it
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for most of the workday
- Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting up to 60 pounds
- Ability to work in a production environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
- Frequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the facility
