We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dietary Manager to lead our dietary department with professionalism and enthusiasm. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in dietary management within assisted living or healthcare settings, and a passion for promoting optimal nutrition and well-being among residents. This role involves overseeing meal planning, ensuring regulatory compliance, supervising staff, and managing departmental operations to deliver exceptional nutritional care.
<Responsibilities>
- Develop and implement nutritious, appealing menus tailored to residents’ dietary needs, preferences, and medical conditions.
- Supervise dietary staff, providing leadership, training, and mentorship to foster a cohesive team environment.
- Oversee patient assessments related to nutrition requirements, including specialized diets such as tube feeding or diagnostic evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with all health regulations, safety standards, and documentation protocols within the dietary department.
- Manage departmental budgeting, inventory control, and procurement processes to optimize resources efficiently.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create individualized care plans that incorporate nutrition goals and physiological considerations.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and sanitation practices to uphold high standards of safety and excellence.
<Requirements>
- Proven experience in dietary management within assisted living or healthcare environments; supervisory experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition science, dietetics principles, and care plan development.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise staff effectively while fostering a positive team culture.
- Experience in managing dietary departments including budgeting, inventory control, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with healthcare teams, residents, families, and vendors.

Experience
Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Service Manager or have a similar national certification from a national certifying body for food service management and safety, or an associate’s degree or higher in food service management or in hospitality, if the course study from an accredited institution includes food service or restaurant management, and meet state requirements for food service managers or dietary managers. Pay rate is based off experience.
