GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Manages the orientation, presentation, and medical plan sales process, complying with established policies and procedures in conjunction with the laws and regulations applicable to the industry. Receives calls from prospective clients, identifying their eligibility, and fosters interest to guide them on the medical plans offered by the company, according to the established protocol. Makes several calls to plan members to promote optimal service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Makes telephone sales strictly following the authorized scripts and complying with the company’s standards, policies, and procedures, in conjunction with the laws and regulations applicable to our industry.
- Answers incoming calls (Inbound) and carries out call campaigns using the corresponding script (depending on the line of business). Manages calls according to the prospective client's needs and generates "leads" or referrals at their request or according to instructions, in conjunction with the laws and regulations applicable to the industry.
- Calls a variety of their members or the members admitted by other representatives to encourage good service.
- Verifies the prospect's eligibility for any of the products offered, abiding by internal policies, laws, and established regulations. When handling Medicare prospects, they must ensure they comply with the CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) regulations and the policies and procedures of the unit.
- Complies with the quality of each referral ("lead") by carefully following and studying the authorized scripts to ensure a high-quality call, improving the chances of successful closing for the sales personnel. Makes use of their etiquette skills on every call to guarantee the best possible service.
- Updates the line of corresponding databases with the exact information of each of the beneficiaries with whom they interact by telephone, according to the campaign, goals, instructions, and training provided.
- Shares, in an organized and timely manner, the reports with their supervisor.
- Properly handles the applications and technological resources provided to facilitate the processes handled in the unit (e.g., OnBase, Aspect, JWalk, Voyager, ECR, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
- Refers to any service request resulting from calls.
- Refers to their supervisor for any situation that calls for their intervention so they can take the corresponding action.
- Must comply fully and consistently with all company policies and procedures, with local and federal laws as well as with the regulations applicable to our Industry, to maintain appropriate business and employment practices.
- May carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned, according to the requirements of education and experience contained in this document.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Fourth year of high school and at least (3) three years of sales experience, preferably in the health insurance industry or a related field.
OR
Education and Experience: 60 approved credits equivalent to two years of college and one (1) year of sales experience, preferably in the health insurance industry or a related field.
Certifications/Licenses: Current Health Services Producer License is required. (A provisional license is acceptable if the candidate does not possess a license. The candidate must pass the exam provided by the insurance commissioner on the first or second attempt).
Others: Availability to work staggered hours, extended hours, weekends, and/or holidays, subject to the company’s and regulatory agencies’ needs.
