Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who have a love for animals and possess the skills necessary to provide exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of pets while delivering high-quality grooming services that enhance their appearance and comfort.
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and other pets.
- Assess the condition of each pet’s coat and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.
- Handle animals with care and compassion, ensuring their comfort throughout the grooming process.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs, behaviors, and any special requirements.
- Provide basic animal care as needed, including monitoring health conditions during grooming sessions.
- Assist in grooming area duties when necessary, including cleaning and maintaining the grooming area.
- Availability for 3-4 days a week (including Fridays and Saturdays)
Qualifications
- Proven experience in pet grooming or a related field is required.
- Strong animal handling skills with an understanding of various breeds and their specific grooming needs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger pets or equipment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with pet owners and team members.
- A compassionate nature towards animals, demonstrating patience and understanding in all interactions.
Pay Scale
- 40%–45% commission, based on experience and skill level. Tips are split with bather if a bather is used otherwise all tips go to the groomer.
