Busy SURGICAL OFFICE looking for an energetic, caring, and reliable RN, LPN, or CMA
HOURS:
- Tues 8am - 5pm
- Wed 8am- 5 pm
- Thurs 8am - 5pm
- Fri 8am - 3pm
Responsibilities
- Record a patient’s medical history accurately
- Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
- Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
- Clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks, such as suture removal and drain care.
- Collect samples for lab testing as assigned.
- Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions.
- Decision making concerning equipment and/or instrumentation sterilization.
- Patient care and patient flow
- Supports other facility personnel in the performance of their duties
- Assists surgeon in procedures performed in our office operatory as well as the surgery center and hospital next door to our office.
- Pulls supplies for upcoming cases
- Demonstrates cooperative work attitude towards and with coworkers, employees, management, patients, visitors and physicians
- Maintains a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA guidelines and infection control standards
- Demonstrates knowledge of Instrument Processing from decontamination to storage of sterile packages.
- Checks room for cleanliness, availability of supplies and equipment for all assigned cases at the beginning of each day
- Restocks operating rooms
Skills
- Proven experience as LPN or similar role
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with health, safety and sanitation standards and procedures
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminology
- Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate
- Successful completion of LPN, RN, or CMA license program
