Job Summary
Cottonwood Creek Wellness Center is a multi-specialty, multi-disciplinary group practice in Colorado Springs, CO. We provide a variety of outpatient services to the community including individual, couples and family therapy, group counseling, psychiatric services, psychological and psycho-educational assessments, supervision, educational workshops, consultation and registered dietician services.
We are looking for a full-time medical assistant to join our growing practice!
This is an ON-SITE position with three locations in Colorado Springs and Monument, CO.
Responsibilities
General Office Duties
- Greets clients and maintains a welcoming environment.
- Assists with maintaining a clean environment for clients.
Psychiatry Specific Duties
- Schedule and reschedule appointments; help with maintaining calendars.
- Provides support to PMHNPs.
- Coordinates psychotropic medications requests for refill with PMHNPs, clients and pharmacies.
- Assist with sending records when requested by other offices and maintain records.
- Coordinates lab orders and requests with PMHNP, clients and Quest.
- Coordinates genetic testing requests.
- Responsible for prior authorization of psychotropic medications utilizing Cover My Meds program.
- Communicate with clients once medications are approved.
- Responsible for Prescription Drug Monitoring Database Reports.
- Track current clients and discharge inactive clients.
- Monitor and maintain supply levels ensuring all expired supplies are regularly removed.
- Coordinate with supply representatives when needed.
Administrative Duties
- Answer phone calls.
- Respond to client messages, emails, and voicemails in a timely manner.
- Perform data entry.
- Make copies of medical forms and keep blank files stocked in office.
- Schedule and reschedule appointments; help with maintaining calendars.
- Answer client questions and provide assistance when necessary.
- Verify information for upcoming appointments.
- Obtain and verify demographic and insurance information and update as necessary into the EHR.
- Verify patient paperwork and consent forms for completion and scan documents, insurance card(s) and photo identification into the EHR.
- Assist with referrals and tracking progress.
- Assists with maintaining a clean environment for clients
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 1+ years of working in an outpatient medical setting.
- Strong verbal and written skills
- A high level of professionalism
- Self motivated and able to work independently and take initiative
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Able to pay attention to detail
- Able to communicate and work with culturally-diverse families and communities with the ability to be culturally sensitive, empathetic, appropriate and non-judgmental
- Is knowledgeable of and maintains HIPAA standards of privacy and confidentiality

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
