Responsible for strategic leadership and daily management of the Cleveland State University (CSU) Athletics compliance program. Creates a culture of compliance and installs institutional controls with all coaches, staff, student-athletes, university personnel, and external stakeholders. Strategically administers compliance monitoring and education and maintains current knowledge and understanding of all National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Conference, and CSU’s rules and regulations. Oversees and delivers all student-athlete and coach education surrounding compliance and NCAA bylaws. Supervises select varsity sport programs and plays a key role on the department’s senior leadership team, offering strategic guidance on compliance commitment and operational excellence. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in business administration, sport management, athletics administration, pre-law, or related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in NCAA compliance administration, of which two (2) of the five (5) years have been supervising or leading staff.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under CSU Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business administration, law, sport management, athletics administration, or related field.
- Experience leading NCAA compliance operations within an NCAA Division I or II athletics department.

- Ability to foster and maintain relationships in the department, within CSU, the community, and other NCAA institutions.
- Ability to be flexible regarding daily work schedule, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to prioritize program needs based on department policies such as budgeting and facility scheduling.
- Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
- Ability to travel.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
